Yamaha’s XV1600 Road Star first went on sale in 1999 and proved a huge hit with what was at the time the biggest production bike engine at a whopping 1,600cc. In conjunction with a 20kg crank weight and thanks to its rigid mount that powerplant treated riders to a unique thrum. The front of the XV1600 Road Star employed a telescopic fork and the rear a link type setup that hid its damper inside the frame for a rigid-esque look. Indeed, a large part of the bike’s allure was in its looks, and the relative ease with which its owner could add after-market parts to truly customize their ride. From side bags to an extended windshield, there was plenty on offer for those looking to make their Road Star stand out from the crowd.

El XV1600 Road Star de Yamaha salió a la venta por primera vez en 1999 y demostró ser un gran éxito con lo que en ese momento era el motor de bicicleta de producción más grande con la friolera de 1.600 cc. En combinación con un peso de manivela de 20 kg y gracias a su montaje rígido que los motores propulsaron a los conductores a un ritmo único. La parte delantera de la XV1600 Road Star empleaba una horquilla telescópica y la parte posterior una configuración de tipo enlace que ocultaba su amortiguador dentro del cuadro para una apariencia rígida. De hecho, una gran parte del atractivo de la bicicleta estaba en su aspecto y en la relativa facilidad con la que su propietario podía agregar piezas del mercado secundario para personalizar realmente su paseo. Desde bolsas laterales hasta un parabrisas extendido, había mucho en oferta para aquellos que buscan hacer que su Road Star se destaque entre la multitud.
