In this 19th issue of ACES HIGH we delve into the world of aggressor aircraft, specifically those with camouflage where blue colors predominate.

During the Vietnam War, the United States created air-to-air combat schools, both in the USAF and the USN.

The latter is very famous thanks to the movies and the film TOP GUN, where American fighter planes, many of them already retired from the front line, imitated in terms of tactics, procedures and combat techniques the fearsome Soviet fighters in service in all Warsaw Pact countries, countries close to the Soviet orbit and, of course, in the U.S.S.R. itself.

In the last decades, when facing an aggressor, gray or various shades of gray predominated in their final finish, making them unattractive or boring.

However, the possibility of being able to execute a series of beautiful and sometimes complicated camouflages has been a breath of fresh air for modelers.

Durante la Guerra de Vietnam, Estados Unidos creó escuelas de combate aire-aire, tanto en la USAF como en la USN.

Esta última muy famosa gracias al cine y a la película TOP GUN, donde aviones de combate americanos, muchos de ellos ya modelos retirados de la primera línea de combate, imitaban en cuanto a tácticas, procedimientos y técnicas de combate a los temibles cazas soviéticos en servicio en todos los países del Pacto de Varsovia, países cercanos a la órbita soviética y por supuesto, en la propia U.R.S.S.

En las últimas décadas, a la hora de afrontar un agresor predominaba el color gris o varias tonalidades de grises en su acabado final haciendo que pudiesen llegar a ser poco atractivos o aburridos.

Sin embargo, la posibilidad de poder ejecutar una serie de camuflajes preciosos y a veces complicados, ha supuesto un soplo de aire fresco para los modelistas.

Welcome to ACES HIGH 17 dedicated to torpedo aircraft. The relationship of aviation with the sea dates back to its most ancient beginnings with the appearance of seaplanes in the first years of the 20th century. Its high potential as a deadly and strategic weapon in the naval battlefield was discovered during World War I.

During the interwar period, the main powers began to modernize naval aviation and manufacture aircraft designed exclusively for this purpose. The zenith of its importance would come during World War II, where naval aircraft were broadly used in different theaters of operations and many times had decisive impact on
the course of events. The most famous was the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, but there were many more famous actions, such as the Taranto raid of Fairey Swordfish biplanes in November 1940, or the battles between aircraft carriers in the Pacific, such as those of Midway or the Coral Sea.
