To achieve this performance, heavy shields and an internal hyperdrive were dispensed with, leaving the pilot almost entirely reliant on the power and support of his astromech droid. The R4-P17 shown here (recognizable by its red dome) was Obi-Wan’s loyal companion on many missions, up until that fateful mission over Coruscant.

Al igual que su alumno Anakin, el maestro Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi también confía en el interceptor Eta-2 de clase Actis. Esta nave marca la cúspide tecnológica de la era de la República: es más pequeña, más ligera y significativamente más maniobrable que sus predecesoras. Para lograr este rendimiento, se prescindió de los escudos pesados y de un hiperpropulsor interno, lo que dejó al piloto dependiendo casi por completo de la potencia y el apoyo de su droide astromecánico.
