This publication is an updated and extended edition of our book Real Colors of WWII released in 2017. It describes the camouflage development and colors of the German, Soviet, US and British army vehicles during WWII.
The team of authors has been expanded: renowned German researcher Johannes Denecke is responsible for the revision of the German chapter. The Soviet and British chapters have also been updated by Przemyslaw Skulski and Mike Starmer, respectively.
Real Colors of WWII Armor has a total of 228 pages and is profusely illustrated with 244 archive photos (inc. 54 in original color), 50 modern photographs of preserved artifacts, numerous color chips, several reproductions of original color samples, camouflage drawings and other documents, and 43 colour profiles of which more than half has been specially commissioned for this edition. The modern American vehicles in Afghanistan and Iraq are becoming a theme that is just as important as the German vehicles from WWII. Many brands of plastic kits are now inclined to produce vehicles from these two theatres of operations, OIF and OEF. This set has been exclusively designed for modelers that make these types of vehicles, they can however be used for subjects of other armies & time periods. These American vehicles tend to have a particular aspect and to achieve these affects the set contains one product for washes and another for the streaking effects. Also included is an 3Gen acrylic base color of one of the most common colors of the American forces in desert zones, the FS 33446. A color faithfully reproduced and lightly softened to compensate for the scale effects.
You can use this color on all your American vehicles and it can be weathered with the 2 weathering effect products included in this set to obtain results very close to that of real vehicles.

This product allow us bring life to the details of the wood accessories of our vehicles and complements. This wash is specially designed to be applied over the light colors of the wood, or even dark to create deep and enhance the wood.
The basic technique used to weather any type of model is the wash, a classic technique that is still one of the most used techniques in modelling today. Apply the washes after shaking the bottle with a large brush to pick out details and creating shadows. The excess of the wash can be easily removed with a clean brush and White Spirit.
