The basic technique used to weather any type of model is the wash, a classic technique that is still one of the most used techniques in modelling today. Apply the washes after shaking the bottle with a large brush to pick out details and creating shadows.
The excess of the wash can be easily removed with a clean brush and White Spirit.

FILTER APPLICATION TECHNIQUES: Apply the filter using a soft medium sized round paintbrush. Deposit the filter onto your scale model in areas where you want to alter the base tone. Filters are designed to achieve a subtle tonal variation for especially vehicles in monotone camouflage colors. Shake and apply directly from the bottle with a moist flat brush. This filter allows us to change subtly the base tone of our vehicles in grey or panzer grey making it more accurate and authentic color. At the same time, the filter adds depth and richness to our vehicle, preparing it for the next paint steps.
Use the filters by moistening a brush and applying it without flooding the surface, to enrich hues in your models, unify camouflage, or highlight areas with a different tone. With these products we will avoid mixing paints, looking for the correct dilution, or searching for the correct colors for our vehicle.
These filters are enamel based and can be cleaned or diluted with Odorless Enamel Thinner.

Our odorless turpentine is very different from our white spirit. Besides being odorless, this product is softer and less aggressive than our White Spirit. This property of the odorless thinner (Turpentine) makes it great for delicate, soft and subtle blending. This thinner is exclusive to enamel and oil paint. Use on grey colors.
With this filter you will be able to work with figures and vehicles in grey colors (specially for German WWII) giving a violet reflection. It can also work over metallic parts or on SCI-FI models to get a subtle violet finish.

FILTER APPLICATION TECHNIQUES: Apply the filter using a soft medium sized round paintbrush. Deposit the filter onto your scale model in areas where you want to alter the base tone. Let the filter dry for about 15 minutes. With this technique you will be able to fade, unify, and enrich the colors. You will also be able to tint the contrast between colors and get perfect transitions. Use each filter in the appropiate tone to get maximum effects.

WASH TECHNIQUE:
Apply the wash using a medium sized round soft paintbrush. Deposit the wash onto your scale model around details, seams and in holes creating fake shadows hi-lighting details. Let the wash dry for about 15 minutes then clean the excess using a brush dampened with Thinner for Washes. Use a fine pointy 00 size brush to apply more refined pin-washes where you feel they might be necessary such as in weld seams and around bolts and rivets
