In the Six Day War, some 860 enemy tanks were captured by the IDF, including some 280 T-54/5 tanks. Within a few years, 146 of them were introduced into service as Tiran 4/5. This book tells their story, a story of the only army that introduced a great number of enemy tanks into prolonged service. The Tiran tank did not really suit the IDF’s needs. It was in many ways a bastard tank. However, the IDF creatively tried to take advantage of all that it had to offer. It was used like no other tank—as a low-grade “bonus” reserve tank unit for wartime, as a mine-clearing tank, as a unique tool for special operations, and as an artillery cannon designated for destroying SA-3 anti-air missile batteries. During the Great War, the assault tanks in the German Army merely played an anecdotal role. Due to the restrictions enforced by the Treaty of Versailles, the first training unit for armoured forces wasn’t organised (secretly) until 1933. The existence of the first three Panzerdivisionen of that new German Army was officially revealed in 1935. The armoured troops or Panzertruppen were an independent branch of the Army, with their own command. This allowed concentrating the tanks in divisions so units were capable of significantly strategic deployments. General Heinz Guderian forged both words: Panzerwaffe to refer to the armoured force and
Panzertruppen to identify the elitist armoured troops which would conquer half of Europe in the following years.
The evolution of the camouflage schemes painted in tanks and vehicles of German armoured units is analysed in the book along with the organisation of these German units during WWI and WWII and the whole interwar period.

The Division Daguet (in french the Daguet is a young brocket deer) was a French Army division formed in September 1990 in Saudi Arabia after the invasion of Kuwait. It was initially formed by elements of the 6th Light Armored Division. On 24 February 1991, when the ground phase begins, the main objective of the division was the As-Salman airfield in Iraq. The Daguet Division and the US 82nd Airborne Division crossed the border and attacked north. The French soldiers encounter some elements of the Iraqi 45th Infantry Division. At the end of the battle, the French Army controlled the objective. The French soldiers captured about 2500 prisoners, and seized a large quantity of weapons. Within a month, the specialized teams of the division which were assigned to the recovery of the Iraqi hardware, managed to capture more than 35 heavy vehicles, a dozen of pieces of AA guns of diff erent calibres and artillery pieces.

La División Daguet (en francés el Daguet es un joven ciervo) fue una división del ejército francés formada en septiembre de 1990 en Arabia Saudita después de la invasión de Kuwait. Inicialmente fue formado por elementos de la 6ta División Blindada Ligera. El 24 de febrero de 1991, cuando comienza la fase terrestre, el objetivo principal de la división era el aeródromo As-Salman en Iraq. La División Daguet y la 82 División Aerotransportada de los Estados Unidos cruzaron la frontera y atacaron al norte. Los soldados franceses se encuentran con algunos elementos de la 45 División de Infantería iraquí. Al final de la batalla, el ejército francés controlaba el objetivo.
