You are holding the 25th issue of “Figure Modelling” in Mr Black Publications’ Scale Model Handbook series.

This is actually the 38th book we’ve published so far, of which 25 of our titles have covered figure modelling; three are about modelling dioramas; four are the popular “Modelling the Second World War” specials; a further six are in our new “Theme Collection Special Edition Series”.

Os presentamos el número 25 de “Modelado de figuras” de la serie de manuales de modelos a escala por Mr Black Publications.

Este es en realidad el libro número 38 que hemos publicado hasta ahora, de los cuales 25 de nuestros títulos han cubierto el modelado de figuras; tres tratan sobre modelado de dioramas; cuatro son los populares especiales “Modelando la Segunda Guerra Mundial”; seis más están en nuestra nueva “Serie de Edición Especial de Colección de Temas”.

They decided to celebrate their 20th edition in the Figure Modelling series by featuring only WWI and WWII themes, which are our two most popular periods. They have 11 different articles herein – five on WWI and six on WWII.

Answering a popular demand, they’ve decided to produce the 21st edition in the Figure Modelling series by again featuring only WWI and WWII themes, two of the most popular periods for modellers. In this issue, there are nine different articles – five on WWI and four on WWII written by five well-known artists and offering lots of tips and techniques about modelling miniature figures, busts and vignettes. Each chosen subject is covered in detail and illustrated with step-by-step photos and explanatory texts.

Respondiendo a una demanda popular, han decidido producir la 21ª edición de la serie Figure Modelling presentando de nuevo sólo temas de la Primera y Segunda Guerra Mundial, dos de los períodos más populares para los modelistas. En este número hay nueve artículos diferentes, cinco sobre la Primera Guerra Mundial y cuatro sobre la Segunda Guerra Mundial, escritos por cinco conocidos artistas y que ofrecen muchos consejos y técnicas sobre el modelado de figuras en miniatura, bustos y viñetas. Cada uno de los temas elegidos se trata con detalle y se ilustra con fotos paso a paso y textos explicativos.

In this issue a variety of themes and techniques is featured; painting different textures and metals, a colourful uniform of the Napoleonic Wars, a large-scale WWII bust and two WWI figures placed on a trench section. They have also included techniques on creating and painting bases and scenic settings. The Maori article on how to paint realistic textures on large-scale figures is a new approach on combining various paints and mediums.

En este número se presenta una variedad de temas y técnicas; pintura de diferentes texturas y metales, un colorido uniforme de las Guerras Napoleónicas, un busto a gran escala de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y dos figuras de la Primera Guerra Mundial colocadas en una sección de trinchera. También han incluido técnicas para crear y pintar bases y escenarios. El artículo de los maoríes sobre cómo pintar texturas realistas en figuras a gran escala es un nuevo enfoque sobre la combinación de varias pinturas y medios.

Herein are, tips and techniques plus information about modelling miniature figures from Ancient Times up to the Second World War Period. Six of the articles are covered in great detail with lots of step-by-step photos helping the reader to follow the different techniques concerning painting, sculpting, converting and making unique scenic bases.

We are pleased to welcome a new contributor to this edition, Jason Zhou from China, who painted the 180mm Hannibal Barca bust from the Nutsplanet range.
