A glass jar with a plastic screw cap is used to purge the airbrush with the cleaner after each use. Thanks to a special filter in the upper part, all impurities and liquid remain in the container. Additionally, the lid is equipped with an airbrush stand.
Cleaners and rods are used to thoroughly clean various elements of airbrushes: tips, nozzles, bodies and other elements. The needle, on the other hand, cleans the inside of the airbrush nozzle or other internal parts of the airbrush, such as the needle guide channel.

This is the third Manual in our new series about Scale Modelling where our aim is to concentrate a lot of information about painting and general modelling techniques for all modellers at a competitive retail price.
Each of our manuals covers a specific topic in detail, while offering lots of different approaches and techniques and, in most cases, written by one author. The content is carefully selected and presented so that readers should find something new to try and to add to their own techniques.
Featured in each book are high quality photos and a detailed text that the reader can easily follow the progressive assembly steps and the painting sequence for each theme, which help to adopt these new modelling techniques and different approaches.
In our previous editions the length of each theme was limited due to the number of pages taken for other content, but now there are no such limitations where everything is presented in a most detailed and explanatory way so there will be no omissions or unanswered questions.
Depending on the theme and content, real painted colour chips of the hues and mixes will be added with information on how to use them.
This series will feature various modelling aspects from Historic and Fantasy, Scale Models, Dioramas, Vignettes, Figures, Busts, Techniques and History.
In this third issue Master Artist Christos Katselos explains in detail how he painted Journeyman Miniatures’ Female Morrigan figure. “The Morrigan, Goddess of War, Fate and Death” is a full figure that comes with a detail scenic base and a lot of extra accessories in 1/24th scale (75mm). As the figure is fantasy modellers can paint it using any colour palette they wish to.
The artist used the airbrush for making a black and white sketch followed by paintbrushes to get the most from each tool. The 55 detailed step-by-step photographs with explanatory captions form the larger part of a total of 60 illustrations revealing all the secrets on how the flesh was painted with a cold hue, hair, clothes, ravens, stones, metals and all the details included in the kit. A total of 38 different acrylic paints were used; seven are liquid pigments and one metallic, from four acrylic series… Lifecolor, Vallejo Model Color, Scale75 and Kimera Kolors, with the real colour painted chips included at the end of the article. Also, he used two different primers to sketch; Badger for black and Lifecolor for white.

Esta serie presentará diversos aspectos del modelismo, desde el histórico y el fantástico, los modelos a escala, los dioramas, las viñetas, las figuras, los bustos, las técnicas y la historia.
En este tercer número, el maestro Christos Katselos explica con detalle cómo pintó la figura femenina de la Morrigan de Journeyman Miniatures. “La Morrigan, Diosa de la Guerra, el Destino y la Muerte” es una figura completa que viene con una base escénica detallada y un montón de accesorios extra en escala 1/24 (75mm). Como la figura es de fantasía, los modelistas pueden pintarla con cualquier paleta de colores que deseen.
El artista utilizó el aerógrafo para hacer un boceto en blanco y negro, seguido de pinceles para sacar el máximo partido a cada herramienta. Las 55 fotografías detalladas paso a paso con leyendas explicativas forman la mayor parte de un total de 60 ilustraciones que revelan todos los secretos sobre cómo se pintó la carne con un tono frío, el pelo, la ropa, los cuervos, las piedras, los metales y todos los detalles incluidos en el kit. Se utilizaron un total de 38 pinturas acrílicas diferentes; siete son pigmentos líquidos y una metálica, de cuatro series acrílicas… Lifecolor, Vallejo Model Color, Scale75 y Kimera Kolors, con las fichas de colores reales pintadas incluidas al final del artículo. Además, utilizó dos imprimaciones diferentes para esbozar; Badger para el negro y Lifecolor para el blanco.

SCALE MODELLING MANUAL VOLUME 1
This is the first Manual in our new series about Scale Modelling where our aim is to bring a lot of concentrated information about painting and general modelling techniques for all modellers at a competitive retail price.
Each manual will deal with a specific topic in detail, offering a lot of different approaches and techniques and in most cases written by one author. The contents will be carefully selected and presented in a way that every reader should find something new to try and to adapt to their own methods. Each book will have high quality photos and a detailed text so the reader will easily follow the progress of the assembly and painting of each theme, to help adopt new modelling techniques and different approaches.
In our other editions the length of each theme was limited due to the number of pages taken for other contents, but here there are no such limitations. Each theme will be presented in a most detailed and explanatory way so there will be no omissions or unanswered questions.
Depending on the themes and contents, real painted colour chips of hues and mixes will be added with information on how to use them. In this series we will include various modelling aspects from Historic and Fantasy, Scale Models, Dioramas, Vignettes, Figures, Busts, Techniques and History You Can Model.
In this first issue we’ll cover a part of the Deutsches Afrika Korps Forces in Scale by presenting Lieven Terryn’s ‘Siege of Tobruk 1941’ Super Diorama, a Detailed Figure Painting with oils of an Alpine Miniatures Leutnant of the 8th Panzer Regiment in Libya 1941 and an article by Mr Black’s Team on Acrylic Relevant Colour Sets for DAK Uniforms and How to Use Them.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
On 11th April 1941 German and Italian troops surrounded the port of Tobruk, a Libyan city on the eastern Mediterranean coast near the border with Egypt, and placed the British and Commonwealth troops occupying it under siege. Only a few months earlier in February, Generalleutnant Rommel had arrived in Tripoli with the first units of the Deutsche Afrika Korps and launched an offensive into Cyrenaica, Libya, which the British had taken from the Italians at the beginning of the war in North Africa. Soon Rommel launched his first assault to capture the port. German troops managed to breach the Tobruk perimeter on 13th April, but after this initial success they were beaten back by the British garrison with considerable losses. On the evening of 30th April, a second major attack was launched by Axis troops assisted by 70 tanks. They managed to breach the perimeter a second time, but once again the attack failed with the loss of over 1,000 men. Over the next few months the British went back onto the offensive launching several operations and eight months later the siege was finally lifted and Tobruk was liberated on 10th December 1941.

El 11 de abril de 1941, las tropas alemanas e italianas rodearon el puerto de Tobruk, una ciudad libia situada en la costa oriental del Mediterráneo, cerca de la frontera con Egipto, y pusieron en estado de sitio a las tropas británicas y de la Commonwealth que la ocupaban. Sólo unos meses antes, en febrero, el Generalleutnant Rommel había llegado a Trípoli con las primeras unidades del Deutsche Afrika Korps y lanzó una ofensiva en Cirenaica, Libia, que los británicos habían arrebatado a los italianos al principio de la guerra en el norte de África. Pronto Rommel lanzó su primer asalto para capturar el puerto. Las tropas alemanas consiguieron abrir una brecha en el perímetro de Tobruk el 13 de abril, pero tras este éxito inicial fueron rechazadas por la guarnición británica con considerables pérdidas. En la noche del 30 de abril, las tropas del Eje lanzaron un segundo gran ataque con la ayuda de 70 tanques. Scale Modelling Manual Volume 2
This is the second Manual in our new series about Scale Modelling where our aim is to concentrate between two covers a lot of information about painting and general modelling techniques for all modellers at a competitive retail price.
Each manual will cover a specific topic in detail, while offering a lot of different approaches and techniques and, in most cases, written by one author. The contents will be carefully selected and presented in a way that every reader should find something new to try and to adapt to their own methods.
High quality photos and a detailed text will feature in each book so the reader can easily follow the progress of the assembly and painting of each theme, and help to adopt new modelling techniques and different approaches.
In our previous editions the length of each theme was limited due to the number of pages taken for other content, but here there are no such limitations. Each theme will be presented in a most detailed and explanatory way so there will be no omissions or unanswered questions.
Depending on the theme and content, real painted colour chips of the hues and mixes will be added with information on how to use them.
In this series we will include various modelling aspects from Historic and Fantasy, Scale Models, Dioramas, Vignettes, Figures, Busts, Techniques and History You Can Model.
In this second issue Master Artist Ernesto Reyes Stalhuth explains in detail how he painted the Airborne Miniatures Bust (ref: 908) of a 1/9th scale US Army Helicopter Crewman wearing ACU modern camouflage pattern, known to most of us as “Digital Camouflage”. The bust can also be painted with Multicam camouflage, or both Multicam Uniform and ACU equipment. The same goes for the helmet, which can be painted dark grey (almost black) or light grey. Gloves should be green.
The artist used a combination of airbrush and paintbrush to get the most of each tool. The 55 detailed Step-By-Step photographs with explanatory captions in a total of 60 illustrations revealed all the secrets on how he painted the flesh and helmet (20 photos) and the ACU camouflage and equipment (35 photos) so to get such a realistic result. The artist used a total of 51 acrylic paints (four of them metallic) and four acrylic inks with the real colour painted chips included at the end of the article. A quick guide on How to Airbrush acrylics using a double action airbrush and a steady airflow compressor concludes the contents of the manual. Read about the common problems that we confront when airbrushing water based acrylics and how to easily solve them.

Este es el segundo manual de nuestra nueva serie sobre modelismo a escala, en la que nuestro objetivo es concentrar entre dos cubiertas una gran cantidad de información sobre pintura y técnicas generales de modelismo para todos los modelistas a un precio de venta competitivo.
Cada manual cubrirá un tema específico en detalle, ofreciendo al mismo tiempo una gran cantidad de enfoques y técnicas diferentes y, en la mayoría de los casos, escritos por un solo autor. Los contenidos se seleccionarán cuidadosamente y se presentarán de forma que cada lector pueda encontrar algo nuevo que probar y adaptar a sus propios métodos.
En cada libro habrá fotos de alta calidad y un texto detallado para que el lector pueda seguir fácilmente el progreso del montaje y la pintura de cada tema, y para que pueda adoptar nuevas técnicas de modelado y enfoques diferentes.
En nuestras ediciones anteriores, la longitud de cada tema estaba limitada por el número de páginas que se destinaban a otros contenidos, pero aquí no hay tales limitaciones. En este segundo número el Maestro Ernesto Reyes Stalhuth nos explica con detalle cómo pintó el Busto de Airborne Miniatures (ref: 908) de un Tripulante de Helicóptero del Ejército de los Estados Unidos a escala 1/9 que lleva el moderno patrón de camuflaje ACU, conocido por la mayoría de nosotros como “Camuflaje Digital”. El busto también puede ser pintado con camuflaje Multicam, o tanto con uniforme Multicam como con equipo ACU. Lo mismo ocurre con el casco, que puede pintarse de gris oscuro (casi negro) o de gris claro. Los guantes deben ser verdes.
El artista utilizó una combinación de aerógrafo y pincel para sacar el máximo partido a cada herramienta. Las 55 fotografías detalladas paso a paso con leyendas explicativas en un total de 60 ilustraciones revelan todos los secretos sobre cómo pintó la carne y el casco (20 fotos) y el camuflaje y el equipo de la ACU (35 fotos) para obtener un resultado tan realista. El artista utilizó un total de 51 pinturas acrílicas (cuatro de ellas metálicas) y cuatro tintas acrílicas, con los chips de colores reales pintados incluidos al final del artículo. Una guía rápida sobre cómo aerografiar acrílicos utilizando un aerógrafo de doble acción y un compresor de flujo de aire constante concluye el contenido del manual. Lee los problemas más comunes a los que nos enfrentamos al aerografiar acrílicos de base acuosa y cómo solucionarlos fácilmente.

This new book from Desert Eagle Publishing presents the Israeli Defense Force’s HEMTT (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck) 8×8 Oshkosh heavy altitude tactical truck. This is a series of large off-road vehicles with a 10t class 8-wheel-drive high output diesel engine operated by the U.S. Army. It was officially launched in 1982, and many variants are manufactured by Oshkosh for various uses, such as hauling equipment, towing, transporting THAAD missile vehicles (TEL), and as a fire engine for airports in the private sector. The Israeli Defense Force operates about 420 of these vehicles, and this book of photos (many in color) and data will be useful for any modeler or military buff.

Within the 100 pages of this book, the five creations between “History & Myth” are presented in a glamorous and illustrative way that we know will command your attention.
I met Vasilis for the first time a few years ago and was lucky enough to admire his work, “The Black Pearl Treasure” at the IPMS show in Greece. His creations are truly breath taking and perhaps no recordings or photographs of them would not fully create the emotions that would fill the viewer when discovering them “in the flesh” for the first time, but the reader will have the chance to admire and learn the secrets of a Master of The Diorama Art.
“The Holy Lake” is the first feature in 54mm scale and has been developed intermittently. Here are presented in detail innovative manufacturing and painting techniques and unique construction materials have been used. The result is impressive as well as the study and work that was done before any construction began. Similar techniques have been followed in the other dioramas and emphasize the diversity of each one.
“The Caribbean Village” at 54mm is the second theme of the book, presenting several new elements and additions to the creative techniques that were used earlier in the first theme.
The third theme is “The Castle” in 75mm scale with some stunning elements that carry you back to 17th century Europe.
“The Black Pearl Treasure” is the fourth, and perhaps one of the most impressive subjects we’ve ever seen in the 75mm scale.
“The Retreat 1812” is purely a historical Shadow Box diary in which many 54mm figures have been used. The despair and destruction experienced by Napoleon’s soldiers is expressed on their faces and the artist manages to convey strong emotions to the viewer.
In closing, I must first of all thank the artist and writer of this amazing work, Vasilis Triantafyllou, and his son Dimitris Triantafyllou who edited the photographs… Thanks are also due to Christos Katselos for his excellent English translation and our tireless English proof editor Ken Jones. Bienvenido a “Diorama Modelling 3” de la serie de manuales de modelismo a escala de Mr Black Publications, el tercero de una serie escrita por el maestro modelista Vasilis Triantafyllou que incluye cinco creaciones diferentes. “El Arte del Diorama – Entre la Historia y el Mito” de Vasilis Triantafyllou es quizás la versión más impresionante y completa de nuestra serie Diorama Modelling y estamos muy contentos de tener la oportunidad de lanzar esta edición, que presenta cinco creaciones premiadas hechas casi completamente desde cero. En las 100 páginas de este libro, las cinco creaciones entre “Historia y Mito” se presentan de una forma glamurosa e ilustrativa que sabemos que llamará su atención.
Conocí a Vasilis por primera vez hace unos años y tuve la suerte de admirar su obra, “El tesoro de la perla negra”, en la feria IPMS de Grecia. Sus creaciones son realmente impresionantes y quizás ninguna grabación o fotografía de las mismas no crearía plenamente las emociones que llenarían al espectador al descubrirlas “en carne y hueso” por primera vez, pero el lector tendrá la oportunidad de admirar y aprender los secretos de un Maestro del Arte del Diorama.
“El Lago Sagrado” es el primer largometraje en escala de 54 mm y se ha desarrollado de forma intermitente. Aquí se presentan en detalle innovadoras técnicas de fabricación y pintura y se han utilizado materiales de construcción únicos. El resultado es impresionante, así como el estudio y el trabajo que se realizó antes de comenzar cualquier construcción. En los demás dioramas se han seguido técnicas similares y destacan la diversidad de cada uno de ellos.
“La aldea caribeña”, de 54 mm, es el segundo tema del libro y presenta varios elementos nuevos y adiciones a las técnicas creativas que se utilizaron anteriormente en el primer tema.
El tercer tema es “El Castillo” en escala de 75mm con algunos elementos impresionantes que te transportan a la Europa del siglo XVII.
“El Tesoro de la Perla Negra” es el cuarto, y quizás uno de los temas más impresionantes que hemos visto en la escala de 75mm.
“La Retirada 1812” es puramente un diario histórico de Shadow Box en el que se han utilizado muchas figuras de 54mm. La desesperación y la destrucción experimentada por los soldados de Napoleón se expresa en sus rostros y el artista consigue transmitir fuertes emociones al espectador.
Para terminar, debo dar las gracias en primer lugar al artista y escritor de esta increíble obra, Vasilis Triantafyllou, y a su hijo Dimitris Triantafyllou, que ha editado las fotografías… También hay que dar las gracias a Christos Katselos por su excelente traducción al inglés y a nuestro incansable corrector de pruebas en inglés Ken Jones. In this third issue Master Artist Christos Katselos explains in detail how he painted Journeyman Miniatures’ Female Morrigan figure. “The Morrigan, Goddess of War, Fate and Death” is a full figure that comes with a detail scenic base and a lot of extra accessories in 1/24th scale (75mm). As the figure is fantasy modellers can paint it using any colour palette they wish to.
The artist used the airbrush for making a black and white sketch followed by paintbrushes to get the most from each tool. The 55 detailed step-by-step photographs with explanatory captions form the larger part of a total of 60 illustrations revealing all the secrets on how the flesh was painted with a cold hue, hair, clothes, ravens, stones, metals and all the details included in the kit. A total of 38 different acrylic paints were used; seven are liquid pigments and one metallic, from four acrylic series… Lifecolor, Vallejo Model Color, Scale75 and Kimera Kolors, with the real colour painted chips included at the end of the article. Also, he used two different primers to sketch; Badger for black and Lifecolor for white.

Master Artist Christos Katselos explains in exquisite detail how he painted Journeyman Miniatures’ “Morrigan, Goddess of War, Fate and Death” in 1/24th scale. The artist used a combination of 38 hues from four acrylic paint series to get the best of each shade. This manual has a total of 60 illustrations, 55 of which are detailed Step-By-Step photographs with explanatory captions revealing all the secrets of how the author painted the flesh, hair, fabrics, metals, using classic metallic colours and Non Metallic Metal techniques, the helmet, shield, candles, skulls, ravens and the stone throne. The artist used a total of 38 acrylic paints and two primers referring to the real colour painted chips included at the end of the article.

Este es el tercer manual de nuestra nueva serie sobre modelismo a escala, donde nuestro objetivo es concentrar una gran cantidad de información sobre pintura y técnicas generales de modelismo para todos los modelistas a un precio de venta competitivo.
Cada uno de nuestros manuales cubre un tema específico en detalle, ofreciendo al mismo tiempo muchos enfoques y técnicas diferentes y, en la mayoría de los casos, escritos por un solo autor. El contenido está cuidadosamente seleccionado y presentado para que los lectores encuentren algo nuevo que probar y que añadir a sus propias técnicas.
En cada libro hay fotos de gran calidad y un texto detallado que permite al lector seguir fácilmente los pasos progresivos de montaje y la secuencia de pintura de cada tema, lo que ayuda a adoptar estas nuevas técnicas de modelado y enfoques diferentes.
En nuestras ediciones anteriores, la extensión de cada tema estaba limitada debido al número de páginas que se destinaban a otros contenidos, pero ahora no existen tales limitaciones y todo se presenta de la forma más detallada y explicativa para que no haya omisiones ni preguntas sin respuesta.
Según el tema y el contenido, se añadirán fichas de colores reales pintados de los tonos y las mezclas con información sobre cómo utilizarlos.
Esta serie presentará diversos aspectos del modelismo, desde el histórico y el fantástico, los modelos a escala, los dioramas, las viñetas, las figuras, los bustos, las técnicas y la historia.
En este tercer número, el maestro Christos Katselos explica con detalle cómo pintó la figura femenina de la Morrigan de Journeyman Miniatures. “La Morrigan, Diosa de la Guerra, el Destino y la Muerte” es una figura completa que viene con una base escénica detallada y un montón de accesorios extra en escala 1/24 (75mm). Como la figura es de fantasía, los modelistas pueden pintarla con cualquier paleta de colores que deseen.
El artista utilizó el aerógrafo para hacer un boceto en blanco y negro, seguido de pinceles para sacar el máximo partido a cada herramienta. Las 55 fotografías detalladas paso a paso con leyendas explicativas forman la mayor parte de un total de 60 ilustraciones que revelan todos los secretos sobre cómo se pintó la carne con un tono frío, el pelo, la ropa, los cuervos, las piedras, los metales y todos los detalles incluidos en el kit. Se utilizaron un total de 38 pinturas acrílicas diferentes; siete son pigmentos líquidos y una metálica, de cuatro series acrílicas… Lifecolor, Vallejo Model Color, Scale75 y Kimera Kolors, con las fichas de colores reales pintadas incluidas al final del artículo. Además, utilizó dos imprimaciones diferentes para esbozar; Badger para el negro y Lifecolor para el blanco.
