The Opel Blitz project was created with the aim of producing a robust and reliable commercial vehicle on a large scale that could be used for a variety of applications and purposes. Opel began producing the first trucks, characterized by a typically American “design”, at its Rüsselsheim plant in the early 1930s. Thus began the story of a great success story that evolved over time until the mid-1970s. Due to its structural characteristics, the Opel Blitz was also used by the Wehrmacht in World War II, in 4×2 and 4×4 versions. However, its notoriety was consolidated thanks to its great commercial success in civilian use. In the post-war period, the Opel Blitz was also indispensable in supporting German tradesmen, craftsmen and industrialists in their post-war reconstruction activities. Numerous equipped versions were also produced, including a fire-fighting version.

El proyecto Opel Blitz se creó con el objetivo de producir un vehículo comercial robusto y fiable a gran escala que pudiera utilizarse para diversas aplicaciones y propósitos.
