During World War II, there were many different models of hound-type armored vehicles used by the British troops, such as: Hound I (using a US-made 37mm main gun), Hound III (using a similar British Crusade tank turret), and Hound anti-aircraft.
The Hound III is mainly equipped with a turret with a modified appearance from the British Crusader tank, equipped with a 75mm caliber main gun. The main difference between the appearance and the crusade tank turret is that the one-piece hatch at the top is changed to two independent hatches, which separates the captain from the gunner’s exit. The Hound III cancelled the defensive machine gun with the front armor.
