Modelling Full Ahead is a new series of books for naval modelers. The aim is to concentrate on a specific ship class in depth. From pictures showing all the angles of the ship, to the model kits you can use and, of course, a detailed step by step on how to transform your model ship in an outstanding artwork. For this first issue Fran Romero, well known naval modelling master, with the collaboration of the italian modeler Luciano Rizzato, will guide us through the difficult, but exciting, way of modelling a Knox/Baleares Class frigate. Follow Fran and Luciano in their journey around the Knox/Baleares Class, from standard kits to 4 outstanding models, with different levels of weathering, and learn in an easy and practical way their master modelling techniques. A book from modelers for modelers, a ‘must’ have to improve your naval modelling skills.
When we decided to launch the Modelling Full Ahead project, we were aware that in an eighty page publication it was possible to condense the information needed to build a specific warship. But as modelling is evolving nowadays with it’s curiosity, techniques, innovation, history, and certainly everything that pushes us to build a scale model, this cannot only be achieved with a monographic series.
Bearing this in mind and in response to the multitude of suggestions we received, we offer you a parallel to the monographs series. In this special issue we will deal with difficulties that may occur during the building stages, such as working with photo-etch, advanced painting, scratch-building, diorama composition, etc. With this new guide we will not only help you to build your models but also have the possibility to tell its history.
Modelling Full Ahead has become bigger. Following the success of the first issue, Knox & Baleares Class we are now proud to present Modelling Full Ahead 2: New Orleans Class. Initially when we laid out Modelling Full Ahead, our goal was to condense the information required to successfully build one class of warship into 80 pages. However, as modelers, we all know that the full scope of our hobby that challenges us includes techniques, new innovative ideas, history and so much more. Be sure not to miss out on these special issues.

Arrived in the Middle East in 1955. The tank was known as a reliable war machine from the battlefields of World War II, and quickly became a main battle tank in the Egyptian army. In the Sinai Campaign (1956), the Israeli Sherman and AMX-13 tanks met it in battle for the first time, and by the end of the operation, the IDF had managed to capture several of them. These tanks were driven through the streets of Tel Aviv as a symbol of the great victory that had protected the young, small state. Afterward, the IDF tested and studied the tanks it had captured, made sure that its soldiers learned them well, and integrated them into its Armored Corps’ training course. By 1967, Syria and Egypt had bought hundreds of T-34s, and it was considered a threat that the Israeli army would definitely meet in their next war.

This new volume is devoted to JG 5 ‘Fighters of the Midnight Sun’. Nothing predestined young German fighter pilots to fly and fight among the grandiose landscapes of Norway, Finland or Lapland with their hostile climates. Many of them would find their last resting places in the storm-tossed icy waters of the Arctic Sea or the snow-covered plains of the tundra. Who even now knows that the defeat of the Wehrmacht was precipitated by the failure to conquer Europe’s northern-most small territory?
This latest Luftwaffe Gallery ‘special issue’ tells the story of this fighter Geschwader and its numerous aces on 96 pages, filled with rare and newly translated first person accounts, over 240 photos (many previously unpublished) and 32 specially commissioned artworks that had been created by Janusz Światłoń.

JG 54 was perhaps the most fascinating fighter Geschwader of the Luftwaffe, not least for modellers. This is in large measure due to the variety of non-standard colour schemes worn by the unit’s Bf 109 and Fw 190 fighters as well as the diversity of its emblems and insignia displayed both early and late in the war.
On 96 pages of this latest Luftwaffe Gallery ‘special issue’ we highlight the story of this fighter Geschwader through rare and newly translated first person accounts, 207 photos of which many are published for the first time, and 32 specially commissioned profiles that had been created by Thierry Dekker.

Through newly translated personal accounts, over 230 photos and 31 colour profiles, we tell the story of this unit on 96 pages of this ‘special issue’ of Luftwaffe Gallery.
