A glass jar with a plastic screw cap is used to purge the airbrush with the cleaner after each use. Thanks to a special filter in the upper part, all impurities and liquid remain in the container. Additionally, the lid is equipped with an airbrush stand.
Cleaners and rods are used to thoroughly clean various elements of airbrushes: tips, nozzles, bodies and other elements. The needle, on the other hand, cleans the inside of the airbrush nozzle or other internal parts of the airbrush, such as the needle guide channel.

Bienvenido a la 26ª edición de “Modelismo de figuras” de la serie Scale Model Handbook de Mr Black Publications y el 49º libro que hemos publicado hasta ahora. Veintiséis de nuestros títulos tratan sobre el modelismo de figuras, tres son sobre el modelismo de dioramas, cinco son los populares especiales “Modelismo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial”, otros nueve pertenecen a nuestra nueva “Serie de Ediciones Especiales de la Colección Temática”, dos pertenecen a la “Serie de Guías de Pintura”, uno a las guías “Cómo hacer”, dos a la “Serie de Manuales de Modelismo a Escala” y, por último, la “Guía de Pintura a Color Vol.1”.
En esta ocasión hemos incluido siete artículos sobre modelado de figuras, todos ellos escritos por el conocido maestro Ernesto Reyes Stalhuth, lo que supone un pequeño homenaje a su persona y esperamos que os guste. Como Ernesto pinta principalmente bustos, aquí podrás leer cómo pintó siete temas diferentes. Descubrirás cómo pintar diferentes tonos de carne y diferentes materiales como cueros, maderas, telas, cascos, armas, los diferentes metales (incluyendo cómo utilizar la técnica de los “metales no metálicos”) ¡e incluso hay un tema de fantasía!

This volume is the 35th edition in Mr Black Publications’ “Scale Model Handbook” series, and the fourth in that series entirely dedicated to what took place between 1939-1945, which has since been described in Western histories as “The Second World War”.
The wartime themes herein are numerous and feature extended articles about models, dioramas, vignettes and figures, especially in 1/35 scale, where we’ve managed to assemble many representative examples from our well-known regular contributors, who’ve been with us from the beginning. We’ve added some articles from newer and very talented modellers that we feel will interest our readers. The Napoleonic Wars stretched over the first 20 years of the 19th Century so most of the articles in this edition will present the colourful uniforms of that era. Welcome to the latest WWII Special, Vol.5 in the Scale Model Handbook Series from Mr Black Publications’ Editions. This is our 42st book by the well-known Netherlands’ artist Luc Klinkers who shows “how to” sculpt and paint WWII period miniature figures in German uniforms, placing them in realistic scenic settings, made from scratch and providing the ultimate techniques guide.
Luc steers you through the miniaturists’ magical world using detailed text with a lot of step-by-step photos so you can easily follow his approach and learn how to sculpt your own WWII German miniature figures in 1/35 and 1/16 scales, displaying them on scratch built scenery.
Inside are 250 photos, around 200 of them combined into step-by-step sequences. The book is divided into five chapters following a progressively advanced sequence from A to Z on how to sculpt your own miniatures. Luc reveals all his secrets and techniques gathered over his 20 years experience in the military modelling hobby where he’s sculpted more than 200 figures.
The first chapter is dedicated to tools, materials and other materials needed to sculpt your own miniature figures. The second covers creating a 1/35 scale three-figure vignette totally from scratch. The author uses heads, hands, boots, weapons and accessories from commercially available products combining them to create his personalised realistically posed figures. Luc makes it look easy and encourages you to try his methods.
The third chapter is about sculpting and painting a German SS Grenadier at the Falaise Pocket 1944 in 1/16 scale, whereas the fourth chapter covers the creation of a 1/16 scale three-figure “action vignette” from scratch. The fifth and the final chapter presents a gallery of masterly sculpted figures that have been created over the past 20 years that were placed onto AFVs, in city or country themes, or just in small display bases.
So what would you expect from this book? I must admit that I first met Luc on Facebook one day when some photos of his latest work appeared in front of me. I was really impressed! Not only from the results he achieved, but also from the time he took from start to finish. An amazing combination! Yes, he uses commercially available heads, hands, boots, weapons, gear, etc., when they fit into his projects to create shortcuts. However, I think the final results are awesome, considering the time dedicated to sculpting your own 1/35 scale heads, hands, weapons, etc., is very time consuming with underlying uncertainties for the amateur. Also, the larger 1/16 scale needs a lot of attention to detail and abilities usually displayed by professionals.
Luc explains how to sculpt your own miniature figures using regular tools and materials, combing your creativity and readily available commercial accessories, so each figure will have your own signature upon it. We often hear that with just replacing a figure’s head we can give it a different personality and progress to adding some character to your scenic base.
Study this book carefully and get out your old figures and spares box that’s been sitting there for years. Start with small alterations and then go further to producing conversions and scratch builds. You will be amazed how good you will feel when you put your own stamp on your sculpted and transformed figures!

Este es nuestro libro número 42, escrito por el conocido artista holandés Luc Klinkers, que muestra “cómo” esculpir y pintar figuras en miniatura de la Segunda Guerra Mundial con uniformes alemanes, colocándolas en escenarios realistas, hechos desde cero y proporcionando la guía de técnicas definitiva.
Luc te guía a través del mundo mágico de los miniaturistas utilizando un texto detallado con muchas fotos paso a paso para que puedas seguir fácilmente su enfoque y aprender a esculpir tus propias figuras en miniatura alemanas de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en escalas 1/35 y 1/16, mostrándolas en escenarios construidos en scratch.

Luc hace que parezca fácil y te anima a probar sus métodos.

¿Qué se puede esperar de este libro? Debo admitir que conocí a Luc por primera vez en Facebook un día en que aparecieron ante mí algunas fotos de sus últimos trabajos. Quedé realmente impresionado. No sólo por los resultados que consiguió, sino también por el tiempo que empleó desde el principio hasta el final. ¡Una combinación increíble! Sí, utiliza cabezas, manos, botas, armas, equipos, etc., disponibles en el mercado, cuando encajan en sus proyectos para crear atajos. Sin embargo, creo que los resultados finales son impresionantes, teniendo en cuenta que el tiempo dedicado a esculpir sus propias cabezas, manos, armas, etc. a escala 1/35, consume mucho tiempo con incertidumbres subyacentes para el aficionado. Además, la escala 1/16 requiere mucha atención al detalle y habilidades que suelen mostrar los profesionales.

This is the third Manual in our new series about Scale Modelling where our aim is to concentrate a lot of information about painting and general modelling techniques for all modellers at a competitive retail price.
Each of our manuals covers a specific topic in detail, while offering lots of different approaches and techniques and, in most cases, written by one author. The content is carefully selected and presented so that readers should find something new to try and to add to their own techniques.
Featured in each book are high quality photos and a detailed text that the reader can easily follow the progressive assembly steps and the painting sequence for each theme, which help to adopt these new modelling techniques and different approaches.
In our previous editions the length of each theme was limited due to the number of pages taken for other content, but now there are no such limitations where everything is presented in a most detailed and explanatory way so there will be no omissions or unanswered questions.
Depending on the theme and content, real painted colour chips of the hues and mixes will be added with information on how to use them.
This series will feature various modelling aspects from Historic and Fantasy, Scale Models, Dioramas, Vignettes, Figures, Busts, Techniques and History.
In this third issue Master Artist Christos Katselos explains in detail how he painted Journeyman Miniatures’ Female Morrigan figure. “The Morrigan, Goddess of War, Fate and Death” is a full figure that comes with a detail scenic base and a lot of extra accessories in 1/24th scale (75mm). As the figure is fantasy modellers can paint it using any colour palette they wish to.
The artist used the airbrush for making a black and white sketch followed by paintbrushes to get the most from each tool. The 55 detailed step-by-step photographs with explanatory captions form the larger part of a total of 60 illustrations revealing all the secrets on how the flesh was painted with a cold hue, hair, clothes, ravens, stones, metals and all the details included in the kit. A total of 38 different acrylic paints were used; seven are liquid pigments and one metallic, from four acrylic series… Lifecolor, Vallejo Model Color, Scale75 and Kimera Kolors, with the real colour painted chips included at the end of the article. Also, he used two different primers to sketch; Badger for black and Lifecolor for white.

Cada uno de nuestros manuales cubre un tema específico en detalle, ofreciendo al mismo tiempo muchos enfoques y técnicas diferentes y, en la mayoría de los casos, escritos por un solo autor. El contenido está cuidadosamente seleccionado y presentado para que los lectores encuentren algo nuevo que probar y que añadir a sus propias técnicas.

El artista utilizó el aerógrafo para hacer un boceto en blanco y negro, seguido de pinceles para sacar el máximo partido a cada herramienta. Las 55 fotografías detalladas paso a paso con leyendas explicativas forman la mayor parte de un total de 60 ilustraciones que revelan todos los secretos sobre cómo se pintó la carne con un tono frío, el pelo, la ropa, los cuervos, las piedras, los metales y todos los detalles incluidos en el kit. Se utilizaron un total de 38 pinturas acrílicas diferentes; siete son pigmentos líquidos y una metálica, de cuatro series acrílicas… Lifecolor, Vallejo Model Color, Scale75 y Kimera Kolors, con las fichas de colores reales pintadas incluidas al final del artículo. Welcome to the 26th issue of “Figure Modelling” in Mr Black Publications’ Scale Model Handbook series and the 49th book we’ve published so far. Twenty six of our titles have covered figure modelling, three are about modelling dioramas, five are the popular “Modelling the Second World War” specials, a further nine are in our new “Theme Collection Special Edition Series”, two are in the “Painting Guide Series”, one in the “How to” guides, two in the “Scale Modelling Manual Series” and finally, the “Lifecolor Painting Guide Vol.1”.
This time we’ve included seven articles about figure modelling, all written by the well-known master artist Ernesto Reyes Stalhuth, which is a small tribute to him and we hope you will like it. As Ernesto paints mainly busts here, you can read how he painted seven different themes. You’ll discover how to paint different flesh shades and different materials such as leathers, wood, fabrics, helmets, weapons, the various metals (including how to use the “non-metallic metals” technique) and there’s even a fantasy subject!

Bienvenido a la 26ª edición de “Modelismo de figuras” de la serie Scale Model Handbook de Mr Black Publications y el 49º libro que hemos publicado hasta ahora. Veintiséis de nuestros títulos tratan sobre el modelismo de figuras, tres son sobre el modelismo de dioramas, cinco son los populares especiales “Modelismo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial”, otros nueve pertenecen a nuestra nueva “Serie de Ediciones Especiales de la Colección Temática”, dos pertenecen a la “Serie de Guías de Pintura”, uno a las guías “Cómo hacer”, dos a la “Serie de Manuales de Modelismo a Escala” y, por último, la “Guía de Pintura a Color Vol.1”.
En esta ocasión hemos incluido siete artículos sobre modelado de figuras, todos ellos escritos por el conocido maestro Ernesto Reyes Stalhuth, lo que supone un pequeño homenaje a su persona y esperamos que os guste. Como Ernesto pinta principalmente bustos, aquí podrás leer cómo pintó siete temas diferentes.
